Coaching only works when the client feels the coach understands their world. I know that from personal experience.
“Been there, done that”
I know what it’s like when the stress doesn’t end when you walk out of the office. When your body is begging for rest, but your mind keeps replaying the day’s events with a critical eye and stubbornly analysing future scenarios. Sleep doesn’t come.
I worked at high intensity. I managed through crises. I was the one who kept things under control — even when I was barely holding on myself. I don’t talk about leadership as a theorist. I know insomnia, I know exhaustion, and I know that peculiar feeling when everything has worked out, but you sense that the cost was too high.
That’s exactly why I now approach leaders who find themselves in a similar place with such care. I know there’s another way: you can lead effectively and grow professionally without it costing you your health or your relationships.
In my work, I support leaders in discovering how to act from a place of intention rather than fear. I want leadership to be a source of energy and inspiration — not a burden that drains you. But this way of operating requires self-awareness, a willingness to change, and courage — the courage to experiment with new behaviours.
I want leadership to be simpler, to be energising. I want leaders to feel calm on a Sunday — not a headache at the thought of Monday. I want them to know how to listen and how to influence effectively. How to care for people — and still deliver results.
It’s possible. It starts with knowing yourself.
A track record of expanding scope and accountability
My professional journey is a story of gradually expanding scope and responsibility.
I started out in Poland as a lawyer supporting sales and marketing, delivering creative solutions. Later I led an entire legal department within the national structure, becoming a partner to the board — helping shape strategic decisions. I then moved to the regional level, covering more than a dozen European markets, where I learned to manage across a diversity of cultures, legal systems and business expectations. The final stage was working in the United States, where as Vice President and Associate General Counsel I led a team of American lawyers and independently coordinated international projects.
This path — from local market to regional and ultimately global — taught me just how complex and demanding leadership in large organisations can be.
